Hello everyone! How are y'all doing today? Well, I'm doing okayish but I hope you're doing good. So basically, I miss my naad (native in Malayalam). I've soooo many memories from there. And most importantly I miss the Kerala food. It's really yummy.
So as we all know, it's summer! Isn't it really hot? Well obviously, it is.
In Kerala, we get various refreshing drinks to beat the heat. And my most favorite among them is Mulagu Soda (mulagu means chilli in Malayalam). It is spicy, but definitely soooo tasty! I'll show you a picture of the soda, so you'll get an idea, of what exactly it is.
As you can see in the picture, you can see that mulagu in the soda.
So how this is made? I'll tell you. You first take a glass, add lemon juice, then some salt, and then you add your chilli. Then using a spoon you give a stir to it and then add the soda to it. Trust me it really tastes sooooo good.
But then, I'll be honest, I've tried making this at home. Even though it tastes good, I don't get the feeling that I get when I drink it near my home which is in Kerala. Unni-mama, that's what we kids call the uncle who makes this. Back in the day, he used to sell this soda at 7/-, and now he sells it at 12/-. But trust me, the taste always stays the same.
I really miss him and also my naad. I hope I'll visit Kerala soon.
